Week 40 - After the Accident
Timeline
- 289 - 295 Days after the accident
- 187 - 193 Days after the surgery
- 019 - 020 Days of EOP (finished)
- 004 - 005 Days of PEMF therapy (finished)
- I didn't have much trouble with my ankle all week. I even started riding my bike and went on some nice trips, up to one hour each. Even the swelling was completely fine after my rides.
- The pain level was 0-5 out of 10.
- Session 30 and 31 - Elliptical Trainer, various exercises to strengthen the foot muscles (Walking with 10kg/15kg extra weights) followed by the massage stick to loosen up the muscles along the fibula.

Week 41 - After the Accident
Timeline
- 296 - 302 Days after the accident
- 194 - 200 Days after the surgery
- 019 - 020 Days of EOP (finished)
- 004 - 005 Days of PEMF therapy (finished)
- This week, I had a lot of appointments, making it challenging to fit in any exercise. However, at the start of the week, I spent 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer for the first time, and by the end of the week, I had cycled 16 km. While the effort caused some discomfort, it felt more like muscle soreness this time, which was actually a "pleasant" kind of pain compared to before.
- The pain level was 0-2 out of 10.
- No physiotherapy this week

Week 42 - After the Accident
Timeline
- 303 - 309 Days after the accident
- 201 - 207 Days after the surgery
- 019 - 020 Days of EOP (finished)

- This week I forced my ankle to its limits an I was quite surprised how stable the leg has become over the weeks. I performed 60min Elliptical Trainer without any issues as well as riding my bike for over 60 minutes.
- Single leg stabilization exercises became more easier every day but still cause some pain especially in the tendons and ligaments
- The pain level was 0-2 out of 10.
- Session 32 and 33 - Elliptical Trainer, various exercises to strengthen the foot muscles (Walking with 15kg extra weights) followed by the massage stick to loosen up the muscles along the fibula.

Here we are! I know it’s just showing a guy who „walked“ 10m and it still looks a bit robotic but it was tough to get to this point!

Week 44 - After the Accident
Timeline
The screws are becoming more and more uncomfortable, especially in the morning when the leg is hardly swollen. At that time, it's possible to see and feel every single screw head in the lower area around the ankle. The skin is extremely sensitive, and sleeping on my right side is almost impossible.

- Overall, I was happy with the results I had achieved. Three months ago, I wasn’t sure if I would ever walk normally again. But I became more optimistic because the intense training started to pay off, and walking felt more and more normal to me.
- The pain level was 0-1 out of 10.
- Session 36 - Elliptical Trainer, various exercises to strengthen the foot muscles (Walking with 15kg extra weights) followed by the massage stick to loosen up the muscles along the fibula.

- For the first time since the accident I was at a beach in Wissant and took some pictures. Walking and staying on sandy beaches is still an challenge for me because it needs a lot of stability work.
- What made me very optimistic was the fact that I had almost no swelling in my foot anymore.
- The pain level was 0-2 out of 10.
- Session 37 - Elliptical Trainer, various stabilisation exercises to strength my cave, self-massage with a massage stick to loosen up the muscles along the fibula.

- Walking is gradually becoming more normal. Since the accident, it's the first time I've thought about running. But with the surgery to remove the implants coming up in two weeks, I don't want to take any risks.
- The pain level was 0-1 out of 10.
- Session 38 and 39 - Elliptical Trainer, various stabilisation exercises to strength my cave, followed by the massage stick to loosen up the muscles along the fibula.
