Corroded Woo 3.0

Post by Fabian »

Unfortunately, my Woo 3.0 sensor developed a fault after just a few months. It all started with the sensor charging intermittently. At first, it seemed like a loose connection, but eventually, it stopped charging altogether and, as a result, could no longer be switched on. I discovered through a forum which battery was used in the sensor and ordered a new one, unsure if the battery itself might be faulty. After opening the Woo 3.0 sensor, I found that the battery wasn’t the issue.

The real problem was that a contact responsible for charging was so corroded that even the internal mainboard was affected, and one of the charging pins simply fell off when I opened it.

Overall, I am quite disappointed with the quality of the sensor, especially considering its price of nearly 200 euros at the time.

The product didn’t even last a year, and the support team, referring to the general terms and conditions, denied any warranty coverage, stating that corroding contacts are not covered.

I can only say that I cleaned the sensor with clear water after each use, as instructed. Despite this, the sensor broke down in a short time due to corroding contacts.
