Description:
Guincho is one of the most challenging spots for Wind-/, Kite-/, Wing- and Surfing in Europe! This spot is absolutely not suitable for beginners. Strong currents and wind up to 50kts in summer presuppose a good riding level.
This Spot is a thermal spot and in summer you can add 10 extra kts to the forecast.
You have to know, that guincho has something what the locals call "Guincho-Bubble". The Wind on the Beach is sometimes weaker than outside on the Water. Ask local Kiters for advice about your Kite-/ and Sailsize to prevent dangerous situations.
It is common, that you need a 12m2 Kite at the Beach and 50m outside you are overpowered with a 8m2 Kite.
The average Wave size in summer is between 1-3m. In winter in combination with storms the wave size can be higher than 5 meters.
