[Portugal] Moledo
Spot Overview:

Description:
Moledo is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Portugal, if not in Europe. With its small offshore island that can be accessed, it offers a unique scenery. Theoretically, it is possible to kite from this spot in Portugal to Spain, as only the adjacent foot of Portugal separates it from Spain. (So, don’t forget your ID card!)
As with most spots in Portugal, I recommend checking this spot at low tide. There are areas with rocks that you can easily see at low tide. Additionally, you should avoid kiting too close to the Spanish shore when there is a north or northwest wind. The large mountain in Spain can create a significant wind shadow.
Similar to Guincho Beach and Viana do Castelo, the mountain in the background provides excellent thermal wind. You can usually add an extra 5-10 knots to the forecast.
